A Carol of Joy

A Carol of Joy is a festive carol that embodies the joy, hope, and reverence Christmas evokes in hearts around the world. The text calls for us to lift our voices in praise and let “glorious song flow out" as the earth rejoices in the miracle of His birth. The music alternates between fast, buoyant sections of proclamation and slower, gentler passages that reflect on the significance of the Nativity.

Commissioned by Arcady Ensemble under the artistic direction of Ronald Beckett, A Carol of Joy premiered on November 28, 2020, in Brantford, Ontario, Canada.
