Voices of Light

Voices of Light is a musical exploration of the many “voices” or facets of light: from quiet potential, to awakening fire, to all-encompassing brilliance. Across its three sections, the music moves from shimmering stillness, to sparks of rhythmic energy, to a soaring radiance that illuminates all things — celebrating light as both a universal symbol and a living force that connects us all.
 
The concept and text for Voices of Light were inspired by reflections written by the choristers of the commissioning choirs: Leioa Kantika Korala (Spain), Giovani Voci Bassano, and Gioventù in Cantata (Italy). Each singer was invited to share what light meant to them, and their words and ideas were woven into the final multilingual text. Italian, Spanish, and Basque form the primary voices of the three sections — with some English interwoven — representing light as potential, as awakening, and as all-encompassing.
