Interested in hosting me as a guest artist?

Having a guest artist join your rehearsal is a great way to enhance your regular programming. Thanks for considering me! I offer clinics, masterclasses, presentations, workshops, residencies, and more both in-person or virtually (more details below).

I tailor all sessions to the interests, goals, and level of the group. If you are interested in hosting me for a session or residency with your ensemble class, or institution, please get in touch so we can discuss your needs and pricing.

Clinics / Masterclasses

If you’re performing my music, I can dive into the inspiration behind the piece, work with your ensemble on interpretation, give feedback, answer questions, and interact with your musicians and community as a guest composer.

Workshops / Presentations

In addition to clinics, I also offer workshops and presentations/lectures on a variety of topics. Here are some topics I'd be happy to dive into in a session (or series of sessions):
   Repertoire
  • A behind-the-scenes look at any of my works
   Creativity Sessions
  • Making a Graphic Score: A great entry point into the world of creation, suitable for all ages, as well as a fun introduction to the world of aleatoric music
  • Songwriting: A look at tools that students can use to begin exploring their own creative voices – from finding inspiration to writing lyrics/melodies and crafting a completed song
   Composition
  • A more in-depth look at creating music — exploring more specialized topics like writing music for voices, text setting, aleatoric music, graphic scoring, etc.
   Improvisation
  • Improvisation in a solo, group, or ensemble setting
   Career
  • A look at the career-side of working as a freelance artist (collaboration, commissions, grants, etc.)

Residency

Residencies are wonderful way for performers, students, and ensembles to interact with living composers! Often residencies are held leading up to a performance or as part of an intensive period of rehearsals or workshops. Residencies can include a combination of activities such as masterclasses, workshops, presentations, one-on-one composition lessons, and more.
