Boundless
A fun and lively work, the spirit of Boundless is that of empowerment, exploration, and creativity. This music begins with sections of aleatory and textural exploration before resolving into a more structured and rhythmic celebratory conclusion. Because of the exploratory nature of this work, Boundless is almost entirely a vocalese — aside from its final moments, which summarize the essence of the piece: “There are no limits. This world is boundless. This life is boundless. I am boundless.”

Conductor's Note:
"Boundless' is one of Katerina’s most accessible pieces – it looks more complicated than what it is! The piece is quite sectionalized and can be taught in this way. The trickiest part is making the transitions from section to section but with a little practice, this small hurdle is easily accomplished. If you are looking at some of Katerina’s other music and are tentative, this is a wonderful entry piece. 'Boundless' is a piece that fits into most program themes and is always a crowd pleaser."
— Elise Naccarato, Myriad Ensemble, Artistic Director
Boundless was premiered in the Maureen Forrester Recital Hall at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario in November 2012. This work was a winner in the 2013 ORMTA Music Writing Competition.
